Nungubane Has 5 luxury thatched chalets. Each Chalet has it's own private deck where you can enjoy sweeping views of the reserve. Bathrooms are en-suite and each chalet has an open-air shower.
Nungubane Lodge
Nungubane welcomes a maximum of ten guests in an atmosphere of intimate luxury. Guests are accommodated in spacious chalets, which command majestic views over the reserve from their individual decks.
With romantic furnishings, which hark back to the colonial era penchant for comfort and splendor, the five secluded chalets are tucked away in the quiet surrounds of Welgevonden to ensure visitors maximum privacy and tranquility.
The bedrooms have twin or king size beds and lead out onto private decks where guests can relax between game drive activities and spot in the veld beyond or just enjoy a good book in the quiet of the reserve.
En-suite bathrooms with large baths are surrounded by windows which let nature and light in. The outdoor showers are a wonderful way to cool down in warm weather of the highveld.
The rooms all have fireplaces where you can curl up in the winter when the game viewing is better but the evenings get colder.
All suites come standard with overhead fans and tea/coffee making facilities.
Nungubane is known for the warmth of its welcome, the friendliness of its staff, and for its highly commended cuisine.

Welgevonden Conservation Levies
- Welgevonden Park Fee is payable directly at the lodge.
- R 265 per person per night.

Child Policy
Children
- No children under the age of 12 years.
- Children older than 12 pay full adult rates.
Terms and Conditions
Please Note
- Minimum two nights stay may be required for weekends and specials
- Guests will be collected at the West Gate of the Welgevonden in an open Land Rover at 12h30. The drive from here is 30 minutes. On the day of departure, guests will be transferred back to the West Gate at 12h00.
- Gate transfers other than the allocated time must be requested in advance with management & if available will be charged at R 250.00 per transfer, subject to change.
- Special Rates above are valid for SA Residents only. Discounted rates for Non-SA residents are available on request.
- No children under 12 years allowed. Children over 12 will occupy their own rooms and pay full adult rate
Single Supplement
- There will be a supplement of 50% on the per person sharing rate for single accommodation.
Welgevonden Conservation Levies
- Welgevonden Park Fee is payable directly at the lodge.
- R 265 per person per night.
- It is subject to change without notice.
