Accommodation at Bongani Mountain lodge
Luxury accommodation, including an en-suite bathroom and private deck offering magnificent wrap-around views, comprises; 20 Double-bedrooms with en-suite bathroom (10 of which include a sleeper couch) 18 Interleading Rooms, featuring either a Double Bed or Twin Beds (ideal for families with young children) 18 Interleading Rooms, featuring either a Double Bed or Twin Beds (ideal for families with young children). The freedom Villa consist of 2 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a spacious lounge, viewing deck and boma.

The air-conditioned conference venue is fully equipped for business delegates. This conference venue, which is near the Kruger National Park, provides for up to 60 delegates and has a professional team to assist in customising your event to your specific requirements and budget with optimum usage of the Lodge’s attractions.
The Deck offers panoramic views and ample breakaway areas in which to conduct inspirational and stimulating events. It is a revitalising destination for productive strategy sessions, teambuilding, bush adventures and board meetings.

Conference delegates can choose to dine* in either the main restaurant, on the viewing deck, or at the boma. The 4664 Room with its casual lounge area serves light snacks and meals. Please note that no children under the age of 16 are permitted near the conference centre while events are in session.

Children
Rates:
- Children under 2 years: Cannot be accommodated at the lodge.
- Children between the ages of 2 - 5 years: Stay free of charge when sharing with two adults. Meals will be charged on consumption.
- children between the ages of 6 - 11 years: a maximum of two may share a room with 2 adults and pay 50% of the adult rate (Subject to roomtypes being available)
- Adult rates are charged from the age of 12.
- Babysitting is available at an hourly charge
Children on game drives
- Children aged from 4 to 6 years will be accommodated on a children’s game drive after breakfast. This is subject to availability. The children must be accompanied by an adult.
- The game drive will be for 1 hour and 30 minutes and will be conducted on the Main Road close to the lodge. They will learn about trees, insects & tracks. There is an additional charge of R 200 per vehicle. (Subject to change)
- Wherever possible families with children will be accommodated on separate game drives. Parental or adult supervision is required for children 7-12 years.
- Unfortunately children under 7 years will not be permitted on regular game drives.
Other Fees
Rates exclude a Conservation Levy of R 185 per person per night. This will be added to the invoice for the accommodation at the time of booking. Rate is Subject to change.
Notes
- Minimum 2 night stays applicable on the weekend - Friday and Saturday night.
- Scheduled transfers from the car park are at 12h00, 13h00 and 15h00. Transfers at other times can be arranged at an additional charge.
- There is an approximately hour wait for unscheduled arrivals where the lodge has not been informed. Please contact us on the emergency number or the lodge with the contact number given should your arrival time change.
- The rates quoted are only applicable to South African Residents. Special discounted rates for International clients are available on request.

Getting to Bongani Mountain Lodge
Bongani Mountain Lodge is an approximately four hour drive from Johannesburg. Daily scheduled flights to KMIA (Nelspruit Airport) and a 35 minute road transfer to the lodge are available on request.
Note that departure time from the lodge to the Nelspruit airport is 2 hours before the scheduled flight and to Skukuza is about 3 ½ hours. This may affect your morning game drives.
Directions to Bongani Mountain Lodge from Joburg
Please do not make use of any GPS co-ordinates when accessing Bongani as these co-ordinates take you to an unmanned delivery gate. Please only use the below directions.
- From Johannesburg take the N4 towards Nelspruit
- Drive straight past Nelspruit towards Malelane/Komatipoort keeping on the N4
- About 30 km outside Nelspruit you will find an area with fruit vendors to your right hand side.
- Take the 'Matsulu' turn off to your left.
- Approximately 80m after the turn off, take the Bongani Mountain Lodge turn off (paved) to your left.
You will pass a dome building on your left and a pre-school on your right. - - Keep on this sand road for 7 km and you will arrive at the Mthethomusha Game Reserve.
You will need to sign in at the security gate. - Drive 1km down to the guest parking & Welcome Centre.
- There you will leave your vehicle and be collected by a game vehicle. Please note pick up times from your res consultant.
- The (game) drive up to the lodge is 13 km and will take approx 30 minutes.
Directions to Bongani Mountain Lodge from Kruger Numbi Gate
Please do not make use of any GPS co-ordinates when accessing Bongani as these co-ordinates take you to an unmanned delivery gate. Please only use the below directions.
- Leaving Kruger Numbi gate you drive 7 km to T-Junction
- Turn left on the R538 White River Rd
- In 3.4 km there will be a traffic circle, take the 2nd exit
- At 6.3 km from T-Junction there will be another traffic circle, take the 2nd exit again
- Continue straight, turn left on Themba Rd after 13 km
- Continue straight for 2.8 km and turn left at stop sign (there is a sign saying Themba Hospital 70 km) continue on this rd for 4.1 km until you reach a stop sign
- Turn left here and after 100 m you have to turn right again on the KMIA rd
- Continue on this road for 3 km until you reach a traffic circle and take the 2nd exit
- (This is where you come out of the airport)
- Continue on this rd for 10.9 km until you reach the N4 to Maputo
- take the slipway to your left (You are now on the N4 towards Maputo)
- Continue on the N4 for 23 km and turn left towards Matsulu, in 100m you will see a turn off to your left, turn left here
- Continue on this dirt road for 6.1 km to the reserve gate. (DO NOT TURN OFF ANYWHERE ON THIS DIRT ROAD!!!)
- Sign in at the gate and follow for road for 450m to the Welcome Centre.
