Nestled in a secluded private concession within the world-renowned Kruger National Park, Buffalo Rock Tented Camp offers an authentic African safari experience surrounded by unspoilt wilderness. Set within a 12,000-hectare concession, the camp combines the adventure of under-canvas accommodation with the comforts of a well-appointed safari retreat.
The unfenced camp is regularly visited by roaming wildlife, including members of the Big Five, while the nearby rocky outcrop provides a favourite resting spot for lions and leopards. Daily game drives explore the private concession and Kruger National Park, while the exclusive concession setting also allows for guided bush walks and night drives, offering exciting opportunities to experience the African bush after dark.
The camp has just 12 privately situated tented suites, each set on a raised wooden deck with an outdoor seating area overlooking the surrounding wilderness. Spacious canvas interiors feature comfortable extra-length twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with an indoor-outdoor shower, Wi-Fi, power outlets and a fan. Large picture windows bring the natural surroundings into the living space, allowing guests to wake to birdsong and fall asleep to the sounds of the bush.
Dining is an integral part of the experience, with a resident chef preparing hearty South African meals and an excellent selection of local wines. Evenings are particularly special, with traditional braais served in the open-air boma beneath the African stars. Guests can also relax beside the swimming pool, enjoy a sundowner in the lounge or bar, or simply soak up the tranquillity of the surrounding wilderness.

Tented Suite
There are 12 privately-situated tented suites, each of which has an outdoor seating area overlooking the bushveld and the rocky outcrop.
Each of the permanent “tents” has been constructed on a solid wooden deck and has its own en-suite shower room with toilet and basin. The canvas “walls” feature large picture windows which allow in plenty of light and offer views of the bush.
Each tent has very comfortable extra-length twin beds and quality linen and duvets. Indoor / outdoor bathrooms allow for private showers with a view out over the wilderness.
Each room has wifi, power outlets for cell-phones or tablets, and a fan.
BAR rates (best available rates): these are short term rates that are determined by occupancy levels which, unlike contracted rates, are only valid for a limited period of time. In order to provide the most cost-effective itinerary we may include BAR rates in our quotation. Depending on the quoting/booking time frame we may need to re-quote BAR rates prior to confirming a booking.
You need to pay daily Kruger National Park conservation levies to access Buffalo Rock Tented Camp, as it is located inside the borders of the Kruger National Park (within the Nkambeni Private Concession).
SADC Residents – Adult: ZAR 230 per adult per day & ZAR 115 per child per day.
Minimum 2 night stays applicable over the weekend - Friday and Saturday night
